Step 1: Soak dried mushrooms for 30 minutes before cooking. Optional: Clean, blanch and add chicken or pork (not included).
Step 2: With all the ingredients in a stockpot, add 1.5 liters (6 1/3 cups) of water and heat on high until boiling.
Step 3: Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for about 2 hours, season with salt to taste.
